Reading these surveys was rather depressing. 500 people in a lecture hall smacks to me of just a big money making business. I feel bad for the individual whose passion for writing died after attending univeristy. I think some of these courses are valid if you want to become a technical writer but if you want to be a creative writer the best advice I've been offered is to read a lot and live life. And of course, have a good support base around you.
Yeah makes for fascinating reading, especially where you get 1 response which is glowing on all accounts mixed in with lots of other varying comments and assessments of the same institution - I became a little suspicious about some of the 'excellents' as you will have seen in my introductory spiel.
