We are a group of writers who interact online with one another’s writing. We do this by reading and critiquing the work on our connected blogs.
Our group exists to explore the techniques of writing and to improve our work, first by reading and assessing the work of more skilled writers, and second by reading and assessing one another’s work. On this blog we post articles which we think might be useful to one another and reviews of writing manuals that we think could be helpful to one another.
Also from this blog we connect to any of our own individual writing we hope to get useful feedback on. These writings are on individual blogs maintained by each of us and are connected to our names in the right hand navigation below.
Journaling blogs are not really appropriate for our purposes, although other forms of non-fiction are, for example memoir or other writings that may be going towards a book, along with short fiction pieces, poetry, short plays, and musings upon books that we particularly like and want to publicise to others.
Although we are an online group some of us have got together and met up. This has been a lot of fun as well as interesting. Meeting up with fellow writers is not a normal event in most of our lives.
We welcome newcomers into our group so please email queenslandwriting@gmail.com if you would like to join us and have your writing blog attached.
